A. Deni Harling, color guard coordinator

10685542_10100990876772263_7592423244580913041_nDeni Harling is the Color Guard Coordinator for the “The Sound that Lights the South” Marching Band at the University of West Georgia. Deni graduated from UWG in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications. She began her color guard career in Valdosta State University’s Blazin’ Brigade Marching Band in 2007. Since then, she has served as Color Guard Captain for UWG, Guard Instructor for Bowdon High School in Bowdon, GA, and Guard Caption Headat Rockdale Future HeRoS in Conyers, GA. In addition, she has been a choreographer for middle school theatre programs across the metro Atlanta area and made guest artist appearances at the Georgia Junior Thespian Conference.

Currently, she serves as Chorus Director and Drama Sponsor at Villa Rica Middle School in Villa Rica, GA. Her professional affiliations include Georgia Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, Sigma Alpha Iota: International Music Fraternity for Women, Tau Beta Sigma: National Honorary Band Sorority, Incorporated, and Alpha Psi Omega: National Honorary Theatre Society.
