UWG Bands is thrilled to welcome Max Mullinix back to the marching band staff beginning in Fall 2016 as our drumline instructor and arranger!
Max spent over 10 years on staff with the Kennesaw Mountain High School Band program. At Kennesaw Mountain, he served as the Director of Percussion. During his time at Kennesaw Mountain, the band participated in several memorable events such as performing at The Midwest Clinic (2006 and 2013), finishing as a BOA Grand National Finalist eight times, winning the Class AAA National Championhip three times, and finishing in fourth place at the WGI Percussion World Championships.
Max has been honored to work and perform with many wonderful people such as David McGrath, Nick Angelis, Bret Kuhn, Clint Gillespie, Blake Tyson, Michael Huebner, Jonathan Ovalle and David Starnes. As a performer Max was involved in several nationally known ensembles including The Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners and PASIC Ensemble, Gadsden Symphony, Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, Music City Mystique and The Cavaliers. Max is an avid clinician throughout the U.S., a former DCI adjudicator and a Bands of America adjudicator.
He currently resides in Villa Rica, Ga. with his wife, Brooke; daughter, Ally; son, Austin; and dogs, Rascal and Coco.
Other teaching/Designing credits include Jacksonville State University, Forsyth Central High School PSW, Northmont High School, William Mason High School, Dobyns-Bennett, Walton High School, University of West Georgia, Atlanta Quest WGI Ensemble, and the 2005 BOA Honor Band of America who appeared in the Rose Parade and many wonderful other organizations.
